Trigun Reverse Bang
Artists and writers collaboration event
FAQ
What is reverse bang?
A Reverse Bang is just a reverse of the Big Bang challenges.
This is a collaboration event between artists and writers in which artists create a piece of art and writers then write a fic based on the art. Will this be a first come first serve event?
No. Writers will be able to choose between presented sketches/drawings and make a list of art for which they are interested in writing a fic. The pairings will be chosen randomly with their choice in mind. What if I am not chosen? / I do not get paired with anyone?
We will make sure everyone is paired/grouped up so that everyone that is taking part in this event will have someone working with them.Do I have to have a finished drawing to apply?
No. During the application period, you only need to have a general idea of what you would like to create. In case you do have a finished drawing, you are more than welcomed to use it! Provided it has not been published anywhere.
During the first check in, we will need artists to have a rough sketch and the general idea of what they want / don’t want in the fic.How much would I have to create?
By the posting time, we expect artists to have created at least one complete art piece, and the writers to have reached the minimum amount of words. The minimal word count is 5k with no maximum.Am I allowed to create more than one thing for my group?
Of course! Create away!Do I have to have a particular style to join?
No. Everyone has their own style and we are not here to put restrictions on how you create your art. We are also not limiting you to only doing digital work, but will ask you to disclose if your art is digital or traditional.Does my portfolio matter?
Since everyone who applies is welcomed to join, we will not be asking for portfolios.
Your previous event experience also doesn’t matter. What kind of content is allowed?
This event is open to all genres and ratings as long as they are about Trigun characters. You are free to create canon related art/fic as well as any AU. You are also free to make crossovers between canons! Both platonic or romantic content is allowed.
We will point out that, in case you have a finished art you would like to submit to the sketch selection, the said art must be previously unpublished! And remain unpublished throughout the duration of the event.
We are aware that you might have shown your work to a friend, but we do ask all participants not to share their work publicly until the posting time.
In case you are creating NSFW art, we will ask you to tag it properly. Are there any restrictions?
Yes, there are a few themes we will not be allowing. Those are incest, paedophilia, non-con, SA, bestiality, zoophilia.
Other than that, you are free to create anything you want.Is everyone allowed to join?
Since we are trying to organise an event that would allow people who want a space free of incest, we ask creators of k/v ship to not apply.
This event is also closed for minors. Why are you excluding this group of creators?
As we have just said; we are trying to make an event for people that do not like to consume this type of content. There are plenty of other events where everyone is able to join in, but this one would like to offer a place to those who would like not to worry about working with someone whose preferences they do not like. What if I am paired with a writer/artist I do not want to work with?
In case this happens, we ask you to contact one of the mods and we will sort this out. We are trying to make a place where people will be comfortable, so in case you do not work well with the partner you have been grouped with, tell us so we can organise something that will work better for everyone. How will the collaboration between an artist and a writer work?
When the artist submits their sketch for the preview, they will be asked to state how they would like to work with their writer. Here are some examples (artists will not be limited to this list, this is just an example):
Regular input - The artist would like to be in touch with the writer and help them develop the story. They would like to regularly receive drafts and outlines, and stay in constant contact with the writer.
Idea exchange - The artist would like to exchange and develop ideas with their writer before the creation period starts. This still means that the artist needs to have a general idea of what they want, but they might adjust their art in case they and the writer agree on a different theme.
Writer’s choice - The artist is happy to let the writer explore their imagination and create something new and unique around their art with their minimal corrections.None of these mean that the artist is allowed to give the writer an outline and tell them exactly what to write. This is a collaboration event, both the artist and the writer need to have input into the creation.
Throughout the process we do ask both artists and writers to stay in contact. You do not have to be in constant contact, but you have to communicate with each other and make sure both of you will be able to meet the deadline. We would ask artists to keep in mind that they are creating art to inspire a writer. Because of this, we ask that artists give authors as much information as they can in your art and its description. What if I (don’t) want certain elements/scenes/themes in the fic?
You should point that out when making your preview application. Remember, the more information you give, it will be easier for writers to know what to expect. What if there are more artists/writers?
In case there is a disproportionate number of participants, we will ask artists/writers if they are willing to be a part of two teams. Are we able to join as a pre-made team?
Yes, but you will need to state this in your application. If I apply as a part of a team, am I still able to apply to work with someone else?
We ask everyone to be sure that you will be able to take part in the event and make good content. Having said that, if you are sure you are able to take part in two teams, you are more than welcome to do so.Is it possible to apply as both an artist and a writer?
Once again, if you are sure you will be able to make content for both teams, yes.

Hello!
We are all new to being mods, but we are very excited about this event and will do our best to keep things nice and organised.
There are a few people we are consulting with that have more experience with the events, and will look into getting more mods depending on the result of the interest check.
